The Lord says, “Be angry and sin not”. Anger is normal; however Rage is not! There’s a fine line between anger and rage. Anger ends with communication and a rational mind. Rage can end in something as lethal as murder. Fear, anxiety, hopelessness, control, guilt, impatience, conflict & other factors, … are all catalysts that can end up in Rage. Anger can becomes an addiction thereby leading to Rage more and more often. Unless you acquire the tools necessary to get your anger under control now, later you could end up losing loved ones, your sanity and possibly your freedom.
As Christians, God teaches us “not to let the sun go down on our anger”. Many Christians suffer Addiction…anger is no exception. With Addiction in mind, most all of those I work with who are chemically dependent, have suffered at the hands of Anger. My own best tool to quench the fiery darts of anger is to make amends before making a mistake. Rage is seductive and will always lie to you by giving you a false sense of power.
